Jennifer Lopez refused to hire Bruno Mars for her wedding after hearing how much he charges

Jennifer Lopez reportedly turned down Bruno Mars for her wedding after learning the hefty price he charged for his performance.

Before tying the knot with Ben Affleck in 2022, Lopez was engaged to baseball star Alex Rodriguez in 2019. However, their relationship ended in 2021, just two years after their engagement. Despite their split, the couple had worked with celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum to discuss plans for their dream wedding.

In a recent interview on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Blum shared details about the wedding plans, revealing that Lopez had considered asking Bruno Mars to perform at the celebration. However, upon hearing Mars’ fee, Lopez was reportedly shocked. Blum recounted Lopez’s reaction, saying, “We just worked with him, and he’s five million.” When asked if that fee was for the entire night, Blum confirmed, saying, “You get 45 minutes, you get an hour.”

Lopez’s response to the fee was less than enthusiastic. Blum recalled Lopez saying, “Don’t be ridiculous.” Although Lopez and Rodriguez never made it down the aisle, Blum offered advice for couples looking to hire major entertainers for their weddings. “You would never have a headliner as the regular entertainment,” she advised. “No one wants to do their first dance to Coldplay or something. You want a band band and maybe a DJ, and then 45 minutes of a big name, like Chris Martin or Elton John.”

Before her relationship with Rodriguez, Lopez was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, with whom she shares 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

In 2022, Lopez rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck, whom she was previously engaged to in 2002, before they wed. However, their relationship reportedly ended in 2024 after two years of marriage. Lopez has shared that 2024 has been a challenging year following the split and while working on Unstoppable, a project produced by Affleck’s company, Artists Equity.

Reflecting on the year, Lopez told People that she’s most looking forward to spending the holidays with her children and family. “The holidays are such a special time for us,” she said, adding, “I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters, relax, and create new memories.”

In addition to her personal life, Lopez recently addressed a comment about her age during a red-carpet interview at the premiere of Unstoppable. The interviewer jokingly remarked that she would soon be celebrating her 60th birthday, which left Lopez momentarily stunned. “What a journey this has been, and I honestly feel that the best is yet to come,” Lopez responded, emphasizing how roles like the one in Unstoppable have helped her grow both personally and artistically.

Lopez is also anticipating quality time with her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, this holiday season. She shared how important it is for her to slow down, enjoy the moment, and make lasting memories with her loved ones.
