Westlife, formed in 1998, are one of the world’s biggest pop groups. The group has 12 albums, all of which reached the Top 3 in the UK charts, and 16 singles that reached number 1, breaking many records worldwide. In 2012, Westlife announced their disbandment, but reunited in 2018 with 4 members.
Not only loved worldwide, Westlife is also associated with the youth of music lovers of the 8X and 9X generations in Vietnam. Every time the melodies of songs like I Have A Dream, Seasons In The Sun, My Love, If I Let You Go, Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up, Soledad, I Lay My Love On You… are played, many people cannot help but feel nostalgic and moved, remembering a time of romantic, dreamy youth. Therefore, when Westlife confirmed that they would bring The Wild Dreams Tour – All The Hits concert to Vietnam, Vietnamese audiences were “on the edge of their seats”. It is known that the world-famous music group’s concert will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 21 and 22 at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Before the concert, let’s take a look back at the lives and careers of the Westlife members after 25 years of ups and downs.
Shane Filan
Shane Filan is the leader and main vocalist of Westlife. After the band disbanded in 2012, he was the member most closely associated with the singing career.
In 2012, the Westlife leader was in a difficult situation due to business losses and had to declare bankruptcy. The reason was because he decided to quickly and recklessly invest in the real estate fever in Ireland. Unfortunately, the global economy collapsed, the male singer had to shoulder a debt of 18 million pounds.
In dire circumstances, Shane Filan did not give up. He started over with small stages to rebuild his image. Thanks to his family’s constant encouragement and support to get a recording contract, Shane was able to bounce back from failure.
The male singer also actively organized tours in Asia – where Westlife has a large fan base. Before the concert The Wild Dreams Tour – All The Hits, Shane Filan once came to Vietnam with the group for the Love Always show in 2011 and three times as a solo singer. Besides, he also composed songs for other artists including John Ostberg, Jerry Given and the group II Divo.
Regarding his personal life, Shane Filan married the beautiful Gillian Walsh in 2003. The two have known each other since childhood and are admired for their strong love. After 20 years of living together, they have 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys.
